The Equipment Mistakes That Make Wellness Centres Unprofitable

When an operator asks us to review a facility that is not performing, the equipment list is rarely the problem in isolation. The problem is that the equipment was chosen before the business model.

1. Capital in technology that cannot be scheduled profitably

A machine that serves one client per hour at a low price point, staffed by a full-time operator, cannot pay for itself. Utilisation maths belongs in the purchasing decision.

2. No assessment entry point

Without a test, there is no baseline, no reason for a protocol, no visible progress and no natural renewal moment. Assessment is both a clinical and a commercial instrument.

3. No protocol, so staff improvise

Two clients get two different experiences from the same technology. Consistency is a product feature.

4. Packages that do not match real behaviour

Packages priced around single sessions when the outcome requires twelve weeks of consistency will produce churn regardless of how good the technology is.

5. Nobody tracks utilisation per machine

If you cannot say which unit earned what last month, you cannot fix the schedule, the pricing or the next purchase.
